Samhian Night Story

            It was a night of the Full moon the stars were shining bright. It was Halloween night. Zachary had taken his Brothers Meethos and Lestat out for trick-or- treating They were looking for adventure on this very night. The were walking down a dark deserted street they had never been on before.  They knew better for their mother had told them only to go where they knew people. But they were here looking for a house with it's lights on to ttrick-or- treat any way. All of a sudden a thick dark fog swirled in . It was so thick they couldn't see their hand in front on their own faces. They started to scream. They garbed for each other hands but couldn't find them.

            Zachary turned to his left thinking his brother would be in that direction He held his hands out in front of his face to feel ahead of him. Meethos walked straight forward expecting Zachary to find him. He just keep walking until he bumped into something thinking it was one of his brothers he hugged it but it wasn't......

            It was a little girl dresses as a fairy. He asked "What's your name?" She replied" My name is Mystic and I live around here. What are you doing here I have never seen you before?" he replies "I was trick-or treating with my brothers when this fog swirled in and we got separated. Can you help me find them?" Mystic got this far off look on here face for a minute than she garbed Meethos' hand and lead him off to the right of where they stood. 

            "Hello little fellow you look lost can I help you?" asked the boy. Lesat stood still and  never said a word just stared at the boy as if he couldn't believe his eyes. "My name is Eolis  what is yours?" Still Lestat did not speak it was if he had no voice box any more.Eolis says"  Well since you won't tell me your name I'll call you Little Guy.Little Guy I'm going to take  you to my home and try and figure out what to do with you .Okay?" Lestat nods yes afraid if he  disagrees the boy will either hurt him or leave him all alone. Eolis reaches out and grabs Lesat by the waist. "Hold on tight I'd hate to drop you. Lestat wraps his arms  tightly around Eolis's neck. They raise off the ground and start  to fly. They fly over tree tops  and Lesat stars to fall asleep in Eolis's arms. 

            Zachary spots a glowing red light ahead of him. He slowly walks towards it but it keeps moving farther ahead. He hears a sound like a  banshee the distance. He was scared but keeps walking after the light. All of a sudden the light disappears but in it's place stands a
figure in the shadows that seems to be watching him. Zachary debates wither he should approach the figure and see if it has seen his brothers. Finally he decides to approach the figure and stops a foot away from it.
            "Excuse me could you help me?" Zachary asks. The Figure never responded just  watches Zachary. "I'm looking for my brothers we got separated. have you seen them?"  The Figure shook it's head no.  Zachary looked as if he wanted to cry but but one single  tear is all that slide down his check. The shadowy figure stuck out it's had and  beckoned Zachary to come to it. The glimpse Zachary saw of the hand  looked like skeleton hand. Against Zachary better  Judgment  he approached the figure but it started to walking  away. Zachary wasn't sure if he should follow it so he stopped where he was. The Figure looked  back and beckoned Zachary once more. Zachary followed the Figure . 

            They walked down a street lined  with 100 feet tall Weeping Willows. All around them Zachary could hear the sounds of Bats flying,  Horns blowing and other sounds he couldn't identify. He asked "Where are you taking me?" He got no response from the Shadowy Figure. Just ahead Zachary spotted a clearing. In the clearing was what looked like a Medieval Castle.                 Mystic is still holding Meethos by the hand but they have taken so many twists and turns  that he can't member how they got on the street line with Weeping Willows. She looks over at him and say " Are you ready?" Ready for what?" he asks." To see if my family has found your brothers silly" She answers with an evil laugh. For the first time since he lost his brothers he is really terrified. 

            But he follows her down the road and spots the castle. "You live there?" he asks Surpassed." Oh yes my family has owned it for several years. As long as I can member matter of fact." They approach the drawbridge as it slowly goes down creaking all the time. They cross the bridge into a court yard light up with a single torch.  There is a massive set of doors opened to the court yard. Meethos is afraid to enter the door way but Mystic is instance.

            Lestat slowly awakens but is not sure where he is. he's been placed in a large bed with curtains all around it The bed is piled high with pillows and blankets of silk like material in Jewel tones. He looks around but sees nothing but a fire glowing in the fire place directly across from the bed. 

            All of a sudden Eolis appeared form no where. Are you ready to tell me your name Little Guy?" he asks. Lestat swallowed and says " My name is Least Armand I  got separated form my older brothers while trick - or -treating." Eolis tilts his head and looks at Lestat and asks" Are your brother Zachary and Meethos?" Lestat becomes very excited " Yes they are. Are they okay? Can I see them?" Yes they are okay members of my family found them. You can see them later." Eolis lays out a outfit of velvet that is the Color of Forest Green with gold Piping for accents on the bed. "Please bath and dress in this." Eolis walks out of the chamber door with out wait for Lestat to respond. 

            Zachary followed the figure across the draw bridge and in to  the courtyard. he saw that it was lit by a single torch set beside a huge set of double doors that were opened. The figured walked across the court yard and entered the doors. Zachary hesitates a second but decided to follow the Figure inside. The Figure walks up a windy staircase with Zachary behind him. They walked up 3 flights of stairs and turned to the right. The figure passed 4 doors before stopping in front of the fifth door It opened it and beckoned Zachary to enter the room.

             Zachary crossed the thresh hold of the room and was assaulted with the smells of Myrrh, Roasted Chicken , and Strawberries. It was weird but he was to hungry to care . the smells drew him farther into the room. He saw a huge bed with curtains all around it, a huge fireplace directly across form the bed and a table set for dinner. There was platter that held Roasted Chicken a goblet  of what looked like apple cider ,a bowl full of Strawberries and a single candle light on the table. Zachary looked the figure as if to ask "Is this all for me?" The figure nodded and waved  Zachary to the table. While Zachary was eating the figure disappeared. Zachary started to look around the room but was suddenly tired. He laid in the bed that was covered in Muted green color for a short nap. When he woke up the table was cleared and velvet out fit of Royal Blue had been laid on the bed with a note that said 

         Out of the corner of his eye he noticed an old fashion tub with steam  rising out of it. He decided to go ahead and bath since it he had been walking a long time this nigh. And the outfit was to beautiful. Why not  this may be the adventure he and his brothers were looking for he thought to himself.              Meethos followed Mystic in the door and past 3 set of stairs. Finally she leads him up the  last set and up 4 flights of stairs and to the first room on the left. The room was a large room with dark blue colors. There was a huge bed with curtains and a large fire place with a fire lit in it. There was instrumental music playing softly. Mystic suggested "Why don't you rest for a while then we shall find your brothers?" Suddenly Meethos was very tired and Yawned. He curled up in the bed and went fast to sleep. When he woke up there was a outfit of Forest Green Velvet with a note that said
"Bath and dress for dinner
I will send someone in
a hour to get you
Mystic"
            Meethos figured this might be the adventure he and his brothers were looking for. Meanwhile Mystic , Eolis and the showy Figure are having a conversation with a loud group  of strange looking people. Eolis is heard saying "But he was all alone. What was I suppose to do?  Leave him out there wandering around lost? I like him I want him to become one of us!" Mystic says I think he's cute and he likes me why can't he become one of us? He's lost his family. Please I never ask for anything But I'm asking for this!" The Shadowy Figure stand there with it's hood thrown back just watching everything with a mad look on it's face. All of a sudden a tall woman steps forward and the crowd hushes. 

            The woman has rear length curly  blond hair, Sparkling green eyes, and is so beautiful it's hard to believe. She say "All the boys have the right to choose them selves if they want to become one of us if we all agree." The crowd stars talking  again very loudly . After a few minutes the blond lady waves her hand and it becomes quite once more ."We shall take a vote now. Those of you who want the boys become one of us stand behind Eolis and Mystic the rest stand on the other side of the room." Slowly the room shifts and more are standing on the other side of the room than behind  Eolis and Mystic. "It's been decided the boys must die. No one should know about us "The lady looks at Mystic "I'm sorry Mystic and Eolis the decision has been made and we must abide by it" 

            Mystic runs off crying. Eolis just stands there in shock "three of you get the boys they shall dine before they lose their lives "All of the boys walked in to the dinning room from different entrances at the same time. They spot each other and start screaming as they run towards each other. Zachary asks "How did you get here?". Meethos  tell them about Mystic and Lestat tells them about Eolis. Zachary decries the shadowy Figure and what he went through. While they were talking the others slowly streamed into the room and sat at the table. There was an empty seat next to Mystic, Eolis and Shadowy Figure.

            Zachary says "Well we are brothers obviously. This is our first night Trick or treating by ourselves. We convinced our mom I was old enough to take them. "Meethos says" Mom had a ritual she wanted to attend but didn't want to disappoint us" The lady interrupts "What Ritual may I ask?" Lestat responses "A Samhian Ritual she's a Witch." Eolis says " Oh Really! What's here name?" Zachary looks suspiciously at Eolis and say " Catlinn Storm Why?!"

            The woman says well that changes everything doesn't it everyone. Zach hollers "What's that mean?" Everyone looks at each other and then the lady. The lady clears the throat and says" This is hard to explain after we eat I promise I will explain everything to you" Just then platters of Steak, fish, chicken, duck, vegetables, rice, cheese and bread appeared on the table. Everyone ate their fill as the food  disappeared was replaced. When they were done the Table cleared by it self.            

            The lady took Zach's hand, Eolis took Lestat's hand and mystic took Meethos' hand. They were lead to a large room with soft Pillows of every color imaginable tossed on the floor in a ring. There were several fireplace and doors around the room. Every fireplace had a fire of a different color burning in it. The boys were beckoned to have a seat. The BLond lady stood by the fire place with the Purple Flames. The rest sat down on the Pillows. All of a Sudden  there was a knock at a door. The shadowy figure got up to answer the door the knock had come form. Several Cloaked figures entered the room and stood behind the boys. They got very scared and held each others hands.
            Once the Figure sat back down the Lady Began to speak....." First and for most the choose we all made has been taken out of our hands...... 

        Only Catlinn can decide what to do now." The boys looked at each other confused how could this be? " We are creatures of the night we come together on a year on Samhian night for a ritual with each other to Worship the Goddess. Even Witches and Druids join us on this night. We had voted on you becoming one of use but the vote was for all of you to die.... but with Catlinn being your mother only she can decide what to do with you three." The lady explained." Those of us who found you wanted you to become one of us but the other are afraid to let others know about us. They fear you boys will expose our secret to people who wouldn't understand. " The lady looks at the cloaked figures and says" Catlinn will you please step forwards?" The boys mother steps forward from the group and lowers her hood staring at her boys as she passes by them.

            She starts to speak" I understand what you all are saying. My sons were not suppose to be where you found them so they were in the wrong. What do you have to say for your selves? Zachary?  Meethos? Lestat?" Zach cries " Mom it was all my fault if some one has to die let it be me. Let my brothers live!" Meethos screams" It was my fault!!" Lestat just starts weeping.

        Catlinn says " I have a solution. Bring me 3 Goblets some cider and my potion pouch!" The shadowy figure retrieves the items she asked for. She sprinkles a pink power in the goblets and pours the cider in with the powder. She swirls the liquid to mix the Potion " each of you will drink all of this down" she commands the boys.

            The boys are scares to drink the potion for fear they shall die but they are more scared  of what will happen if they don't listen to their mother. The drink all the potion and begin to feel sleepy. as they fall asleep they fall down on the pillows and let go of each other. 

    They wake up in their own beds on Samhian morning with no memory of what had happened to them. They went out tricker treating with their mother that night. Their mother had planned on attending a Samhian Ritual that night but she decided to stay home with her boys. Many years later they boys attend the Ritual their mother missed and felt a dejaviu about it but never said anything
